California Tomorrow

Dear friends and family,

Just a brief post here to note that Kelli and I depart with Amos for California tomorrow, June 27. We are going a few days prior to the surgery to get in some fun activities and reduce the rush of it all. We will be there until July 2. The other three kids will stay in Charlotte with good friends here, so they will be in safe hands.

Please do pray for us; for safe travel, for good conversation with Amos, for a sense of peace as we return to a place linked with so many significant family memories. Of course pray fervently on June 30 at 9:30am (EST) for the surgery to go exceptionally well.

I was at PCA General Assembly this week in Kentucky and somewhere along the way sang the hymn How Firm A Foundation. I have always treasured this stanza:

When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
for I will be near thee, thy troubles to bless,
and sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

Our family has found this to be true as Amos has passed through deep waters in the past. We are praying for the Lord’s blessing in this present distress.

Love,

The Ross Family
