Prayer Request

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you’re all well and easing into summer with lots to look forward to! We are writing with a quick update and request for prayer this week. On Thursday, Amos is scheduled to have his stoma (the opening from his tracheostomy) closed surgically by his new ENT at Duke Children’s Hospital here in NC. Will and Amos will be driving to Durham tonight for the Thursday morning appointment.  Thursday morning, Amos will undergo anesthesia and have a scope of his airway to ascertain whether his airway looks “good”. If it looks good, the surgery will go ahead and Amos will remain inpatient for observation until Friday. You might remember that we’ve tried to close the stoma before but each time Amos’s doctors have taken a look, things haven’t looked 100% so they’ve canceled the procedure. This is a possibility for tomorrow as well.

Would you pray with us for the following…

1. Traveling mercies and safety as we are apart.

2. Wisdom for Amos’s ENT as she makes the call about closing the stoma.

3. For peace as we have seen so much drama surrounding Amos’s airway. We are admittedly anxious about the prospect of any change- knowing that change can be both good and bad if something is “off”. Please pray for us to trust these new doctors and communicate with them well.

Lord willing, this week ends with another event that we’ve anticipated for a while, though without any of the above concerns attached! We are blessed to be able to celebrate Will’s Ordination into the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) this Sunday. We are thankful for how the Lord continues to lead and guide our family and for the ways that Will is able to use his gifts in service to the church primarily through his role in teaching future pastors and ministry leaders at Reformed Theological Seminary here in Charlotte. Thanks be to God for this good gift and the chance to serve in this way. If you’re in the area, please come! The service is being held at 3:30pm at Uptown Church here in Charlotte.

Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Love,

Kelli, Will, Amos, Luke, Sam and baby girl

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. he will take great delight in you, he will quiet you by his love.”
