MRI Results

Hello friends,

I’m sorry for not posting an update over the weekend! We were waiting on official scan results, which we still do not have, but wanted to share what we do know.

The unofficial reading of the MRI by Amos’s neuro-oncologist is that everything looks great. There’s no evidence of any residual or new tumor and we couldn’t be happier with that news. Additionally, this scan was meant to take a look at how Amos’s brain looks post-radiation and his doctor said things look really great. Typically, post-radiation, the brain can look very inflamed and “angry” with lots of irritation. However, the words used to describe Amos’s brain post-radiation were “quiet” and “very tough.” We praise the Lord for this good news of Amos’s clear scan and overall brain health!

This is such encouraging news!

Additionally, we were able to see Amos’s Neuro-ophthalmologist and she was surprised and pleased to see that all of Amos’s vision numbers are exactly the same as they were in March of this year, before his surgery. She said that based on the location of the tumor it is very surprising to see no vision changes or loss. What a blessing! Truly, we know that the Lord continues to watch over Amos in so many ways and we are grateful.

Here’s a photo from last Thursday. After Amos finished a long brain and spine MRI on top of a long day of appointments, we got to go out for pizza in Durham at a highly-recommended spot. We timed the storm perfectly and were greeted afterwards with this beautiful double rainbow. What a precious reminder of God’s promised faithfulness to his people!

Thank you for praying.

  7. Kelli, I met your father-in-law many years ago at his store where I picked up a prayer flyer for Amos. I was so touched by your family’s love and support during such a difficult time. I put Amos’ picture in my Bible and followed each and every post, praying for a miracle and marveling at God’s faithfulness… not always the answer you wanted, but ultimately, the blessing and healing only an omnipotent God could provide. Today’s picture of Amos and the double rainbow just made me smile…indeed we have an awesome God! Blessings for many more “rainbow reminders” of the Lord’s steadfast love!
