Clear Scan!

Thank you all for your messages, prayers, and encouragement this week. As always, these scan weeks take it out of us emotionally but we are also thankful for the ways that the Lord upholds and sustains us. Will heard from our neurosurgeon last night that the scan from Tuesday was “all clear”. He also shared how he’d been looking at the scans from 2015 and couldn’t believe how “ugly” those were compared to the most recent scan. Praise God for his healing protection and the restoration that has taken place in Amos’s brain these last FOUR years. We are so, so grateful!

Yesterday Grandpa treated all the boys to a baseball game at the Angels stadium in Anaheim- just a stone’s throw from the hospital. The boys were beside themselves with excitement, it was a perfect night for baseball, and the Angels won! It is not lost on us that Amos gets to enjoy these simple pleasures with his family instead of being stuck a couple of miles down the road in the hospital where he’s logged more than his fair share of days, weeks, and months. We are so thankful!

Another praise from this week is insignificant on one hand but on another, makes us feel the Lord’s constant care and even sense of humor in showing his sovereign attention to the details of this journey. Amos’s pediatric neuro-opthalmologist (a pretty narrow specialty!) who has done all three of his eye surgeries and has followed him from the beginning told us that she’s leaving California and moving to join the team at….Duke Children’s Hospital! She’ll be working with Amos’s current vision doctor at Duke and will be involved in his care there. What a great development for Amos and another way in which we feel cared for and loved by God.

Here’s a picture from the baseball game!

Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Love in Christ,

Kelli, Will, Amos, Luke, Sam, and baby girl (coming soon!)

  4. Although we’ve never met, our family attended Chelten for several years and we have many mutual friends. I’ve been following your story for the past few years and have been praying for Amos and your family. I love reading your updates and am so grateful to see God’s healing hand in each of them. But even more, I love seeing how God is working in even the smallest details and how generous and kind He continues to be as your story unfolds. Thank you for always pointing to Him as you share your updates. Praying for continued health and healing! We serve a great God and I can’t wait to see how He continues to work in your lives.
