Wednesday July 22, Amos Update #26

Dear Friends,

This morning I began the day with a run down by the ocean.  Will and I have been switching off staying at my parents house with Lukey while the other one stays with Amos. It’s definitely an important break from the intensity of the hospital. We find ourselves awake through significant portions of our hospital nights so these breaks are much needed.

Today as I walked down towards the ocean, this song was first on my playlist. It’s one that Amos and I have listened to countless times together but this morning the words were a great comfort in light of recent events.

10,000 Reasons

The sun comes up
It’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name

Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

You can listen here.

Amos had a busy and full day. He’s doing really well with his therapy even though it’s an evident struggle for him. The struggle mostly seems to come from his own frustration. It is so hard for us to see him upset especially since we really can’t know what exactly is upsetting him. He has a lot of therapy and rest scheduled for this week. We’ve seen some good progress already. Small things but big to us! Thumbs up, a wobbly high five, an assisted hug…all amazing encouragements to us. Thank you for praying!

  • Please continue to pray
  • -For Amos to be patient, brave, and understanding as he struggles with all that he can’t do right now. Please pray that he would not be afraid and that he would know the Lord’s presence and comfort during this time.
  • -For Will and I as we comfort, encourage, and seek to explain things to Amos.
  • -For Amos’ body to continue to heal and for the rest of this week to be one of great progress.
  • -For patience for all of us as we endure these days of posterior fossa syndrome. May we look to Jesus for our strength and love one another well.
  • -For Amos to come out of the posterior fossa syndrome soon!
  • -For the upcoming radiation treatments to go well and for Amos to be cancer free all the rest of the days of his life.
  • -That Amos would come out of this trial with a greater love for the Lord and a desire to serve Him.

Thank you all for the continued prayers, emails, and encouragement!

Love in Christ,

Kelli, Will, Amos, and Luke

  1. Dear Kelli, Will, Amos, & Lucas,

Thanks for this encouraging word. May the smiles and high fives continue! And may the Lord use your moments of quiet to raise your spirits, strengthen your hearts, and fill you with the peace that comes only from Christ. He prays for you (as do we).

  2. Will I’m sure you and Kelli are getting tons of e mails, but thought I’d say Amos appears to be doing very well, the Lord is at work with Amos’ mom and dad, the doctors and the grand parents. Our connection is with Scott and Lisa and we are getting all the updates.

Hugs from Jerry and Becky Morris
